Walking is ordinarily done slowly so you won’t be straining your joints too much, unlike running. My brother is very thin (but he chows on a good deal of junk food) and I ask him how he he can stay slim. Even though he says he has no idea, I think the fact that he walks daily may be the reason. After he mentioned that, it made perfect sense. Walking is very easy to do there isn’t any excuse you shouldn’t do it.
If you can stick to a walking routine each day, it will be something natural to you and you’ll find it easy to shed off some pounds. Since walking is not an exhausting physical activity, it’s easier to keep motivated and stick with your exercise routine. You can hike up the intensity level of your walking as you grow used to walking daily. There’s no excuse not to do it if you feel okay with that. Pick up the pace when you’re out walking and, if you like, try jogging for short distances. After this, you may want to move on to more difficult workouts.
There’s no reason that you can’t go walking a few minutes each day. Even people with busy schedules can find 10 minutes each day to walk around the vicinity or visit the local gym for a stint on the treadmill.
