What Causes Stretch Marks – How Do You Get Stretch Marks?
April 29th, 2012
“
If you have ever experienced rapid tissue growth or weight gain due to pregnancy, puberty, obesity or muscle building exercise, you are probably familiar with these ugly little red or purple stripes that develop in the skin.
While it is true that stretch marks do eventually fade to a shade significantly lighter than your normal skin tone, there will always be some indication that they were there. Most of us know that what causes stretch marks includes a variety of conditions. Skin doesn’t always bounce back if it’s been stretched by pregnancy, growth spurts, or rapid weight gain. Instead, it becomes decorated by stretch marks, which occur in the elastic middle layer of the dermis and allow rapidly expanding skin to retain its shape. Both men and women alike can develop stretch marks on any area of the body undergoing rapid changes — including the abdomen, thighs, hips, buttocks, breasts, upper arms, and lower back. Rapid skin growth for whatever reason is what causes stretch marks, because it does not always allow time for the production of adequate collagen and elastin.
These major building blocks determine tone, texture and thickness of new skin.
are produced in place of normal skin, and fade to paler than normal skin color over time.
As you can guess, answering the question of ‘how do you get stretch marks’ is not as essential as treating them once they start to appear. No matter what stage of their development, stretch marks remain difficult to hide and virtually impossible to eliminate. Despite deceptive advertising and inaccurate explanations regarding what causes stretch marks, there are many treatments that may indeed reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

Reading Glasses As Perfectly As The Accommodative Reflex
April 15th, 2012
“
And when they can no longer do this, that’s when we slip on a pair of reading glasses to give our eyes that much anticipated relaxer.
There are actually three functions that all occur simultaneously to allow us to focus up close. The major factor is accommodation itself, that is to say when the crystalline lens inside the eye is acted upon by the surrounding body of muscles and the lens thickens. By adjusting in power, we are able to focus up close. The power is considered plus power, which magnifies. (have you ever wondered why the numbers on your reading glasses always start with a plus power (+)? Whether they be a +1.00, +2.00 or +3.00 they all replace a portion of plus power that the lens can no longer provide.
The other factors that make up the accommodative reflex are convergence of the eyes.
When you focus up close, your eyes actually both move in towards your nose a bit, this allows both eyes to see the same image at such a short distance. And finally, pupils will get a little smaller. This is referred to as miosis.
When your pupils constrict, less light is allowed in and sharper focus can be had. Now it makes a little more sense why that menu at the candle light dinner was so hard to read. The process works wonderfully well, until the crystalline lens slows down around the age of forty and presbyopia sets in. Then, well thank goodness for reading glasses.

“
proudly announces the general availability of ResQSoft Engineer for Oracle WebCenter, a new release of the companys flagship Engineer product which creates Java applications directly for Oracle WebCenter.
Using the companys toolset, developers can specify the form of a new application they would like to construct and then Engineer will create a complete WebCenter application, already packaged as a JDeveloper project. Compared to hand coding, time savings of 4-10 times can readily be achieved, and all of the specialized work to build and deploy portlets for WebCenter is performed automatically. ResQSoft Engineer for Oracle WebCenter also can be used with the companys legacy source code analyzers to modernize legacy code directly to the WebCenter platform.
Existing applications written in mainframe languages such as MAPPER, COBOL, Natural, Model 204 and IDEAL can be re-created as WebCenter portlet applications, and the tools allow developers to make dramatic improvements in look and feel declaratively, without programming. As with new development, all of the WebCenter-specific work and the packaging for JDeveloper is done automatically. In addition to these mainframe programming languages, ResQSoft Engineer for Oracle WebCenter can also be used to modernize Cold Fusion, Oracle Forms, PowerBuilder, MUMPS, Micro Focus and other commonly used programming languages. In fact, the ResQSoft Engineer toolset handles over 100 legacy languages and dialects, and can even be used to rapidly replace Commercial Off the Shelf Software packages for which the source code is usually unavailable.
